Twenty years ago, we set out to make great web hosting simple. Today, we are starting over.
This is the beginning of the new Gigahost. The first thing you meet is a Control Center remade from scratch, but one that still keeps the promise that started it all in 2006.
Control Center 2.0
We rebuilt Control Center from the ground up, but were careful all the while not to move what you already know. What we did instead was hold every page up against a single question: What did you come here to do?
You feel the answer the moment you sign in. Instead of a wall of menus, there is a calm overview: how many domains you are running, how much disk space is left, when the account renews, and how many mailboxes are live.
We started over on the way it looks, too. The new Control Center is drawn in a design language of our own. We call it Evident, after a very Danish idea: a well-made object should explain itself just by being looked at.
The ground rule is a refusal to fake anything. If something looks like you can press it, it is because you can. A color means only one thing, and it means it everywhere. Less to memorize, less to learn.
Press Ctrl+K anywhere and a command palette opens. Type the first few letters of wherever you are going, and you are there.
When a site is misbehaving, the new Troubleshooter checks the whole chain in one click — domain, DNS, web server, certificate — and tells you in plain words where the trouble actually is.
Those two are the ones we are proudest of, and the ones we think you will keep coming back to. Beyond them lies a great deal more: a new file manager, a proper dark mode, and hundreds of small touches. Next week we will take you around it properly and show you the whole thing, room by room. But you do not have to wait for the tour — everything is already open.

Twenty years, made new
Gigahost has hosted Danish websites since 2006. Two decades of uptime, of answered tickets, of businesses and ideas finding a home online. We are proud of every year of it.
But anniversaries should look forward, not just back.
Gigahost has not looked this different since the last design change in 2016. But this time, we are not stopping at the surface.
